How to Play Arathi Basin in World of Warcraft
First, a little bit of background for you World of Warcraft lore junkies out there. Arathi Basin is a battleground which serves as a turning point between the battle of the Humans and The Forsaken. Arathor wants to get the land for their sponsors in Stormwind, while The Defilers want to basically break the connection between the humans and their allies, the dwarves, in the area to the south. Arathi Basin, in the simplest terms, is a variant of a 'land grab', an all out frenzy to get as much of the opposing team's bases as possible. When capturing a team's base you gain resource points for your team. When you reach 1600 resource points your team wins 3 Arathi Basin Marks of Honor. If you lose you gain 1 Mark of Honor. There are no ties, if each team reaches 1600 points at the same time, whoever has the most bases at the end is counted as the winner. When taking over a base a few different advantages are given to your team. First, you earn points at a faster rate. Also, you get a respawn point for your character if you die, which is helpful since the default locations are usually at a very far distance from the action. Also the default point bottlenecks into the battlefield, so you would die quite quickly if there are numerous players there. The best classes to be in this Battleground are: Rogue, Druid, and Mage. A rogue and a druid are good due to their stealthing abilities which makes guarding the flag very easy. A mage will have lots of open space to cast his or her spells which is needed here.
